Japanese Bitcoin Investment Firm Metaplanet Launches $5.4 Billion Financing Plan, Shares Surge 22%
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Japanese Bitcoin investment company Metaplanet plans to raise approximately $5.4 billion and increase its Bitcoin reserves, which have already reached $1 billion. The company's stock price surged significantly on Monday. Metaplanet announced a stock acquisition rights plan on Friday, which is said to be the largest in the history of Japan's capital markets. Metaplanet expects to accumulate 210,000 Bitcoins by the end of 2027, several times the 8,888 it currently holds. On Monday morning in Tokyo, Metaplanet rose by 22%, and since shifting to cryptocurrency at the beginning of 2024, the company's stock price has been highly volatile.
