Sotheby’s has sold nearly $35 million worth of digital art this year
On December 25th, Sotheby's, a 279-year-old auction house, has sold a digital artwork worth nearly $35 million in 2023, according to Cointelegraph. In addition, Sotheby's sold NFT "Ringers #879" created by digital artist Dmitri Cherniak for $6.2 million this year, setting the highest cost for digital artwork ever. Sotheby's Vice President and Digital Art Director Michael Bouhanna said that Sotheby's will focus on "supporting creators and enhancing their primary market strategy" next year.
